Parametric Types

Admin User

Parametric types are the named physical or performance characteristics used for parametric estimating in BOEMax. The purpose is to create a library of statistically valid cost estimating relationships using historical data to support linear regression analysis. All projects share the set of parametric data.

Parametric types are unique to your business environment. Examples of physical characteristic parametric types include weight, power, or lines of code where an input of x generates a function of y or y=f(x). Using the example of lines of code, lines of code is x (independent variable) and hours is y (dependent variable). These x and y values are input or imported into EVMax. Use the library of historical actual data for regression analysis as needed when creating cost estimates. Select Parametric for the type of work package Assumption and then select the applicable Parametric Type.
